Nice spot. The food was delicious ans exactly what I asked for. They did not enforce social distancing or limited seating. We sat outside on the patio on a really nice evening so it was enjoyable. The service leaves a little to be desired. They are always busy and treated us as such. Just very short answers and no smiles. View all feedback.
What Ava W doesn't like about El Jaripeo-new Palestine:
Bad food! No flavor! Tacos, enchiladas, salsa all lacked flavor. The quesadilla was good. Even my 8 year old grandchild commented on how disappointing the food was! Keep your money in your pocket! View all feedback.
This location is okay, I have eaten here several times. The food tastes pretty good, but average for an authentic Mexican restaurant. But being the only Mexican place in town, it's this or drive. The service seems to always be slow here, as it takes them a while to refill empty drinks, that I know they have to see sitting there, as the place is also small inside. They have several tables and booths, but it can get crowded and very noisy during peak times. If in town and not wanting to drive they are fine to eat at, but if craving better food and service then east side Indy or south side Greenfield, both maybe 10 miles away, ha. The place also seems like it takes them a while to bus tables and get them cleaned, and the staff sometimes seem like they are a bit lost. Better training would really help this place a lot, but having the monopoly on Mexican food in town does not give them much reason to improve I guess, haha.
I've read comments about food lacking flavor, I had no issues during my visit. It was busy and we didn't mind waiting, I was occupied eating chips n salsa, while having a conversation. Place isn't perfect, but it's good enough for me because I enjoyed my meal, waiter periodically checking up on us, it was busy so we understood. Gladly return to have another meal at some point in the future. Thank you/ Gracias la comida estaba buena.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The most disrespectful service I have ever seen!! They accidentally messed up our drinks and when we asked for the correct ones, the manager came out and yelled at us in front of everyone! She told us we HAD to finish our drinks and were not allowed to order anymore. She then proceeded to talk about us to other tables. Then when we tried to pay, they charged us for the messed up drinks AND the correct one. On top of that, she charged extra for all other drinks too. Extremely rude and will not come back here EVER!! Disappointed beyond belief.
This restaurant no longer exists at this location. The Nopal is there now and it's really good.
