The staff were very friendly. I brought my parents here and the staff exhibited patience and kindness towards our entire party. The food was as good as it gets around this region, which means don't get your expectations too high if you're accustomed to higher end dining in big cities, but I certainly mean this as a compliment to the restaurant. I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. It's a great place to indulge yourself and be pampered. While it may be on the pricier side, if you appreciate delicious food and excellent service, the cost won't be a concern.
The staff were incredibly friendly. I took my parents here, and the team showed great patience and kindness toward all of us. The food was excellent for this area—just manage your expectations if you're used to fine dining in larger cities. Nevertheless, I truly mean this as a compliment to the restaurant.
We have dined here twice in the last couple of months, both times it was excellent. Service is friendly, helpful not hovering but somehow always available ! The wine choices are varied and excellent , also they served me a Pinot by the glass that was not on the menu( the one I was yes was out) and the manager was kind enough to offer me another form Oregon. Loved that ! The food has been very very good, and we are currently obsessed with the pastrami smoked salmon app. All around a very very good restaurant , lovely location a much needed establishment in new london.
I enjoyed two fantastic dinners at this restaurant. The lamb and bluefish entrees were outstanding, the duck breast was excellent, and while the gnocchi was good, it was quite different from traditional Italian gnocchi. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our visit.
Sadly, our experience was radically different from most reporters. Perhaps the place was having a bad night, though it certainly wasn 't busy. There was no sign of the chef in the dining room. The menu choices seemed odd, with an emphasis on beets. Beet loaf? Prices are high, quality just middling. A duck breast was gray and overdone, though the server had said the chef made it medium rare. Other mains (there were nine of them were reported as bland and inoffensive no raves. Service was a bit brusque, on the impatient side, perhaps a bit amateurish, certainly not friendly, let alone amiable. A birthday greeting from the management provided the centerpiece, despite careful explanations that this was a major anniversary occasion. A early phone call to discuss flowers for a centerpiece was never followed up, and the table lacked any festive touch. Salads were fresh; drinks generally good; bread stale (upcharge! , expensive, and an afterthought. To quote D.F.Wallace, a supposedly fun thing I wouldn 't do again.
