We very much enjoyed our meal before seeing a play at the playhouse. We were served and on our way in plenty of time. The food was great. It was very crowded, so the noise and service were no doubt impacted by that, but my wife and I still very much enjoyed the experience and our waitress was very polite and friendly. What bill argo doesn't like about Playhouse Riverview Café:
Food was great. I wonder who decided to push the price of a Manhattan to $33.50 each I had 2 and was shocked to see this gouging .Ridiculous I won't be back to eat. Theater is close and great set up this is extortion. I have been all over the country and never been charged $33.50 for a Manhattan. I certainly wouldn't have had 2. They were good but time to rethink your pricing or put a warning sign on the menu View all feedback.
The view, convenience and pleasantry of the wait staff is wonderful. We found the proportions of the food and concentration on potatoes overwhelming. The southern chicken was served on a small board with food hanging over the side and needing repositioning not to fall on one's clothes. Also the chicken was overcooked and the cole slaw and potatoes were over-spiced causing me at one point to choke on too much spice going down. We like supporting the playhouse, but next time will try to order other things.
It was nice sitting by the window having lunch before the show.. The food was good, as well as the selections. Prices were reasonable. The service was good attentive. We will be back.
We absolutely loved sitting outside on the deck. We ordered the spinach salad which was great but it had way too many cucumbers and not enough spinach. We both ordered the fried chicken. It had a great flavor with crispy skin but was over cooked and a bit dry. The slaw that came with the meal would have been better as a regular slaw, but it had BBQ sauce mixed in. The biscuit was dry. Had an herb in it that did not compliment a BBQ chicken. A cheese biscuit would have worked perfectly. The potato wedges were awesome. Service was top notch.

Ordered the special tortellini w/ chicken, broccoli special sauce...yummy enough for tomorrow! Hubby had a burger, perfectly prepared to order! And affogato for dessert! The play was very enjoyable too!
