Martine's Riverhouse - New Hope

Love, love, love everything about Martine's River House. Sitting on the outside deck is always the way to go with good weather. Service was fantastic. Food was amazing. Drinks superb.

We were expecting a quiet, riverside brunch but there was a party w DJ inside and a family w screaming children outside. (Not the restaurants fault of course. The DJ music was blasting through speakers outside too. I just expected a more peaceful and upscale experience.

Overall, the food was atrociously mid for the price. The view was beautiful, and that's basically what you were paying for. Our table got the pâté, the seasonal burrata, and the scallops for the main course. 38$ for five scallops is kind of wild and can't say I can justify paying that much after eating it. The service was rather slow, and the small plates were relatively average for 18$. The pâté didn't taste fresh and the grits that came with the scallops were pretty bland. Overall, I wouldn't go back. The food quality simply doesn't line up with the prices.

The ambiance was great sitting on the patio overlooking the river. Service was slow. A 1:00 lunch took well over 2 hours. I ordered a lemon pasta dish and added shrimp. It was $36.00. It was more like a soup pasta dish verses a lemon butter pasta dish. We felt we had to order drinks in advance because our server was not around too often. It was a $300 lunch for 4. I'd be okay with that if the food, service, and drinks matched.
