As Bridgewater restaurants were slim pickings on Sunday morning for brunch before noon, we did a quick google search and remembered the Riverside Eatery! We missed breakfast by a few minutes, but they did not disappoint. Great variety on the menu, clean establishment overall (and bathroom, which is a bonus!), great service, and VERY good food. What User doesn't like about RiversideEatery:
Coffee and appetizers were luke warm. Just not a menu that is appetizing to me. No steak sauce for a steak menu. The peppercorn burger is not recommended by any means. No peppercorns visible, it looked and tasted bad. It really should be listed under a hot sandwich section as this in no means can be eaten as a hamburger. Thought by the description there would be a little bit of gravy on top of the meat for flavor but... View all feedback.
This was our second drive to the newly owned and renovated eatery. Our first attempt failed due to the site only initially being open for suppers - we were really happy to hear of extended hrs When we walked in, we were pleased with the dining room updates. The booths are not fixed so you can adjust the tables; totally comfy Our server was excellent; cheerful and welcomed us quickly and took care of menus and drinks right away. The menu has a lot of options; appetizers, salads, burgers, seafood, pizza, pasta ... there should be something for everyone. We enjoyed the loose Hamburg on fries - flavour and portion was just right The bread pudding dessert was a nice size portion, nice texture and flavour and lots of raisins The lasagna dip appetizer was not a hit with us - watery (possibly frozen then microwaved?) and no real flavour & the chips were boughten, multicoloured Tostito style - a selection of baked tortilla or pita chips brushed with herbs would have been a nice touch. And the dip itself really needs flavour. Also, there were a couple of staff that carried on personal conversation and one who sat and took break at counter in dining room - which is one of the rules to be followed in professional hospitality. While there are the couple of negatives, they are observations taking into account that it is a newly operating crew. We won't let it keep us away however we may not be ready to brag it up quite yet.

We both got the clubhouse sandwich with fries, which is simple and fast, but good quality ingredients shine through for sure. Fresh baked bread, thick bacon, and real roasted sliced turkey breast filled out the yummy clubhouse. Great portion size as well, and great coffee!Overall a win, and we will make the drive again for breakfast before noon! :)
I hope this place finds it's stride, as it's nice to not have to go to Bridgewater for pub food. You will get more customers if you serve hand cut fries, not Sunspun 7/16 skin on. Also homemade gravy, not powdered lipton beef, or trio, or olde style. These are 2 changes I would recommend. I go to waves just for the gravy. I found the soft serve ice cream was expensive for a large that didn't look like a large. Not sure if the burgers were homemade or frozen, but it was pretty good. Overall the building is very nice, the staff were nice, and the food was ok (but I do now know one of the waitreses schedule at her other job B.P), keep staff chit chat in the back. I will go back again soon to see if they have worked out the kinks.Homemade goes a long way. You can get cheap pub food at Charlies.
Everyone we have booked in the area cab services were top. competant and understanding very friendly and decret keep fingers away from tuk tuk drivers had very bad experien in two occations,
My family and I have eaten dinner here several times since it opened a few weeks ago. The food is freshly prepared so the wait is a little longer but worth it. Prices are very reasonable, portions are good size. The staff is very friendly and aim to please. Being a vegetarian, I always look for something more than the norm. They have a great variety of vegetables for a veggie plate (not on the menu but doable), stir fries, 3-4 pasta dishes too. There is probably more but that's what I know about. The coffee is always fresh and the desserts are all homemade. They also have some great salads (fresh not wilted) They took their time preparing for opening and the whole place is fresh and clean (important to me) including the restrooms. They also have a little shop on the lower level Grab & Go that opens early in the day and has snacks fresh bread, baked goods etc. I am looking forward to them opening the restaurant for breakfast at least on weekends. It's easy to get to lots of parking and even an ATV loading ramp for those who want to make Riverside the final stop after a day of fun. Definitely a great addition to New Germany and surrounding area.
