2 Papas - NEW GERMANY

On our way across Nova Scotia from Digby to Lunenburg we decided to stop for a bite to eat in New Germany. To be honest we did not expect anything outstanding in this little village which is in a pretty isolated location. Wow! Were we surprised. We drove right past 2 Papas at first but the distinct and brightly coloured building drew us back as we decided pizza would make for a tasty lunch. We turned around and are so glad we did.We enjoyed the best pizza we have eaten in a very long time. This tiny establishment has one of the last stone ovens in Nova Scotia. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza which was prepared just as I have eaten in Italy. Delicious homemade crust brushed with olive oil and topped with veggies and cheese. My husband had the Hawaiian pizza - his favourite. Pizza cooked in a stone oven imparts a unique and authentic result that is unbeatable. We agreed that we need to come back as soon as we can. Well worth the drive! We sat out on the patio on a lovely sunny day.Lastly, the staff were super friendly and pleasant which makes such a difference in any restaurant. Bravo to 2 Papas!!

Great pizza, good toppings and perfect cheese! Dough boys are a must to try they are truly a special treat!

Very few people complain about Donair sauce on the side - a generous portion of cupped Donair sauce is given . To have it sit around in a warmer or soggy or not portioned for the consumer is not our style - it is kept cool and refrigerated fresh sos sauce on side !!! Creamy rich homemade sauce here in the country .

This little 'hole in the wall' provides surprisingly good food. A new chef has provided some being to an already good menu. This eatery leans toward the Italian food side of things. Don't plan on eating there during the summer months though as it is extremely hot inside with no air conditioning. The foo dis very good however and worth the visit. Friendly staff.

There pasta stuff is ok, but if you want extra sauce on a pizza of actually want sauce on a sub before it goes in the oven ! they will charge your for it but you will not receive what you asked for , and you with get tinnier little cups of sauce on the side , soo sad
