My family and I discovered the Madonna while heading to Gruene Hall to see Los Lobos perform. We instantly fell in love with the beautiful building, and the entrance was truly welcoming thanks to the lovely lady there. The service we received from Jennifer and her staff was exceptional. What User doesn't like about Our Lady Patio:
It's quite a dive. We've visited a few times, and it seems to always be packed with regulars who are on a first-name basis with the bartender. While that's nice, it doesn't quite entice us to return. There’s a strange smell that lingered during both of our visits—perhaps there’s a sewer issue nearby, though I'm not sure. On this recent visit, I ordered a margarita, and it was really subpar. Lovely and quirky bar with some gourmet food. I saw someone mention it was a Cheers type bar, and they were spot on. Cocktails are top notch, and a good beer selection, although no taps. If you are into thin crust pizza that is cooked properly, this is by far the best pizza in NB. Off the beaten path but a definite gem!
Fun and cool place to eat and drink a couple of adult beverages. The owner is super nice and the regulars call it cheers you know where everyone knows your name. They have a rotating menu and a few standards menu item you can always get. The jukebox is super cool its a quarter a song and it plays vinyl records. The place has indoor and outdoor seating. If your looking for a fun place to chill and relax you found it. Stop by and say hello to Jen.
This is a beautiful cozy welcoming bar. I loved our experience there. My first visit was pleasant and I'm definitely going to visit again soon.
Only outside of Gruene this off-set bar and grill takes their flavors seriously. Inside can be small-esque, but it opens very well. Very nice, comfortable chairs, well decorated, plants everywhere, great atmosphere, long bar with open backyard with a lot of outdoor seating. Music through, court games, shadows, lights and even a stage, this place is definitely bigger than it looks from the street. If you love spicy, I challenge you to give your spicy drinks or even Jalapeño cheesecake an attempt. Pack a tasty stamp you can taste the fresh, light and homemade pest of your mixers. Definitely refreshing and great time of the year to be in an environment like her. The owner was welcoming, warm, informative and can pour a medium drink. We had a conversation and the person knows their taste buds, look at the menu. We need to return to try more of what they have to offer, even if it is a limited menu.
