Well, it's an interesting place like all kinds looking for restaurants with history... beautiful place. The waiter Allen so nice and very professional. The first thinks it hurts my head... Escargot... OMG really? I've been looking for this for a long time. Great place, great food... great people! Thank you! View all feedback.
What J N doesn't like about Waltz Inn:
When we first went in, I used the bathroom. Looking at the floor almost caused me to loose my appetite. Does anyone ever clean in there? The grout was half black and half white. That bathroom made me wonder what the kitchen must look like. The food was ok but no taste. Then I was told they don 't use salt because some people can 't have it. So I guess the rest of us have to deal. Any cook knows cooking 101 starts wit... View all feedback.
Tried the Waltz Inn for the first time. Simple, charming decor. Nothing flashy. They had many fish specials as it was Friday. The walleye basket was excellent, as was my wife's fish n chips. I highly recommend the mushroom and onion ring appetizer. They're huge! And with nice breading. They come with cocktail sauce which many places don't do. Our server was Brooke. She was attentive but not bothersome. If I had any complaint it would be the service was too fast. Sounds odd but I got my salad well before finishing the appetizer and the entree showed up very soon after. Timing issue. But if that's the only downside, they're doing pretty good.
This place was great, had the lake perch and shrimp, they were both really good,we also had the onion rings mushrooms appetizer.waitress was friendly,it was all around good
One of our regular spots. It is close to home, and the food is pretty solid. My wife and I got the fried mushrooms for an appetizer. These mushrooms are big and they never disappoint! We also split a chicken quesadilla and it was average. My 3 girls split the kids spaghetti. They enjoyed it and was enough food for all of them. Would definitely recommend and is kid friendly.
We've been here a few times and have had good experiences. However, tonight was considerably disappointing. We ordered a round of drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Appetizers and drinks arrived promptly, but we asked for a margarita on the rocks and were given a frozen one. This alone wouldn't have been egregious, but the entrees were. The food took a very long time to arrive (about 45 minutes). People who were seated at the same time were leaving the restaurant as we got our food. Then the prime-rib we received was very undercooked (medium-rare) so we sent it back. When it came back it was still only medium when we asked for medium-well. Then our plates of fish chips came with perch when we asked for cod. We're not sure why the kitchen staff seemed to struggle so much tonight, but it may be a good idea to avoid coming here when they are busy since that may have been a factor. We would like to note that we were pleased with the wait staff since our waiter did come to apologize for how long our food took. However, we were not pleased with the kitchen tonight.
We ran across this place by accident and were very happy that we did. We ordered the fish chips and the fish sandwich. The pieces were huge and so tasty! It was almost too much to eat but we forced ourselves as it was too good to waste. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. We would return in a heartbeat if we are ever again in the area.
