What User doesn't like about The Airport Grille:
I usually try to avoid writing negative reviews, but I have to be honest in my assessment of this restaurant. It got off to a bad start. My friend Maria inquired about the authenticity of the potatoes, and instead of checking with the chef, the waitress replied, "I don't know because I didn't eat them." I was not impressed with this restaurant. The positives were ample parking space and a friendly host on the day we went. The beautiful view of the small airport watching airplanes take off and come was also a plus. The Calamari appetizer and the Gold Rush chicken finger appetizer were good. However, there were some cons as well. Three of us ordered burgers, 2 medium and 1 medium rare. All the burgers were cooked well, but it took the server a while to come back to us and ask how our meal was when we were more than halfway through. A friend ordered the buffalo mac and cheese and found it incredibly heavy, ending up taking it home and throwing away the leftovers. It also took a while to get a refill on water, to the point where we had to ask for a pitcher to stay on the table. The service overall was poor, especially considering the restaurant was not very busy.
We have been regulars at the Airport Grill for a while and have always enjoyed the food. However, during our last two visits, the food was not served hot. We noticed that our dishes were sitting on the shelf, waiting to be delivered and had cooled down. I ordered a salmon salad which was nicely seasoned and cooked beautifully, but the salmon was not hot. Despite this, I still ate it. My wife ordered the cacoila plate with rice and fries, but it was undercooked and extremely salty. They gave her a replacement, but it was hot on the outside and cold on the inside. The service was good, but unfortunately, the food was not up to par. This was the second time in a row that we experienced cold food at the restaurant. We will give it another try, but if the issue persists, we will not be returning. It seems that since the restaurant changed ownership, the quality of the food has only been average, despite the higher prices.

So AG now has a Sunday Brunch 1st Sunday of the month. It was our Daughter in Laws Birthday week so we went. The hours are 10-2..We got there at 9:45 and there was a waiting line in the airport lobby. They opened up at 10 and very smartly started staggering seating the people waiting. Got seated...Bloodys,, Mimosas Boozy Coffees...lol. The Brunch Buffet was endless and the food was amazing. The staff was on point and really good at what they do... This is a no brainer...Brainerd... just be prepared to wait as the word has gotten out already... Nice job AG !!!!
