What User doesn't like about Elizabeth's:
This place is OK if you want fast food and in a hurry. The prices are a high and the quality of food isn’t the best. They are other places to choose from than here. View all feedback.
Look, this is Massachusetts. We're not known for our food. This place is decent cafeteria style food shop. Really good sometimes, somewhat good most of the time. My guess is, it depends on the cook, like most restaurants that hire multiple people. They def need to step up their Chicharron game tho
I have eaten at or picked up food from Elizabeth's Restaurant about half dozen times over the past 3 years. I will acknowledge that the quality of the food is inconsistent, though not as severe as some of the other reviews would indicate. Let's get the negatives out of the way first. One time, I picked up dinner that had chicken which was a bit dry and overcooked. I attributed this to the fact that the chicken had probably been in the steam table since lunch and I went there around 7 or 8 pm during the week. I think the restaurant is geared up for lunch and doesn't get enough dinner business on a midweek night to justify preparing a fresh batch at the end of the day. The important thing is that the food was tasty but a bit dry. The second negative was one time in the early evening when I dropped in just to pick up a side order of yellow rice, as I didn't feel like waiting to cook it at home. I already had meat in the sous vide cooker which was ready to sear and eat. Anyway, the rice was good but I thought that $8 was kind of pricey for it. I know that it wasn't on the menu and that the fellow behind the counter kept asking if I was sure I didn't want some meat on it. In retrospect, it may be that they weren't used to selling a plate of rice, so he charged me whatever the lowest price of meat and rice would have been. Though I won't ever order just rice there again, I can't downgrade a place that's normally good and reasonable, just for this. All of the other times I've eaten at Elizabeth's have been positive experiences. The food is good for what it is: Central American lunch counter food. The foods are tasty. The servings plentiful. The prices reasonable. In addition, the staff has always been friendly, despite the fact that I am not fluent in Spanish. The decor is simple and comfortable. The Avenue is the Avenue. If you live here, you know that just about anything can go on outside on the street. If someone can't handle that, I suggest they stick to the Corporate Concept restaurants which are plentiful in the suburbs. City dwellers know how it is in the area and eat in places like this for the food.
Authentic and delicious, I don't know what I ate because everything was in Spanish!....hand pies, tequitas and fried pork rinds?

Food prices not bad. The only thing is that there's some meats that you cannot get with the smallest plate B. S. But who cares, I'll pay it..!
