Demellos Produce Market - New Bedford

The boys happen to be in the area and needed a butcher. Google sent us almost into Clarks Cove but we were stopped short of the great barrier wall and pulled into Demellos. This hideaway at the bottom of New Beige completed our quest of red meat. We opted for the rib eyes and the price was right! Other cuts of beef, pork and of course Chourico. A selection of fresh seafood and shellfish from the largest fishing Port on the Eastern seaboard. Shrimp is getting peeled and steaks are resting at room temp. Stay tuned for further updates.... This Place is great. The lady that works behind the meat/fish counter is so nice! Very approachable! Prices aren't bad and they have great choices! It definitely gets my approval

This place has the best options of Portuguese prepared food around.. I live in another state but every time I go to Massachusetts, I always stop in and get food from them, definitely 5 stars.

DeMello's is one of the best Portuguese markets in New Bedford for the freshest fish, shellfish, and meats. Specialty cheeses, olive oil, flat breads on Wednesday and grilled fish hot off the grille for lunch. Sardines, mackerel, flounder, white fish are freshly cooked each fish day and specialty Portuguese codfish casseroles with beans and meatloaf are amazingly good in the hands of the ladies in the kitchen. This is a friendly place. Everyone is family.

Drive from the Cape to here once a month to stock up on the best linguica and chorizo that can be found in the area! Great prices on meats and seafood too.
