We stopped after a long drive from MN and a local recommendation. It was a Friday night and they were requesting reservations. Well, we didn?t know that and they seated us anyway. We had the BEST waitress, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so comfortable. Such an accommodating restaurant, they even gave out a little gift to the kids! We would stop again!!! We just loved this little gem! Highly recommend! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Duncan's Fireside:
I would not recommend dining here. We waited two hours for our food, while other tables that ordered after us received their meals first. The kids' cod meal consisted of four fish sticks, not actual cod. My husband's chicken was awful, and I ordered a filet, but I kept finding bones in every bite. A filet shouldn't have bones, and this should have been mentioned on the menu if that's the case. When our server checked... View all feedback.
I went here after being recommended by a friend for their pizza. The last time I was here was about four years ago under the previous management and it was really good! First off, they had a child up front who couldn?t have been older than 9, taking names and bussing tables by himself at the same time. Second, they didn?t even have pizza with no explanation why. The food took a long time to be served; there were only two servers working tables. Finally, we didn?t find this

The fish was excellent, the sweet potatoes fries were amazing, the homemade potato chips were delish and the waiter was super accommodating and nice!!
I was pleasantly surprised by this resort. There are two cabins facing southward lakefront the lake view cabin is the one we had which is lower and further up the road. It was a nice two story with an upper double double bed loft and radiant heat in the floor on the main level. The kitchen was a nice size, and a brand new 32 HD TV in case you would actually watch TV. We were there for a weekend in January so we did not take advantage of the nice sized outdoor deck; rather, we watched the ice fishermen from our big sliding glass door. I was a little worried that the furnishings would be old ala the land that time forgot, but they were better than expected. The owners are really accomodating and easy to work with. There is also a little bar and grill up the road which I will also YELP about. The cabins are among a motor home permanent campground which was not too busy when we were there but is probably busy in the summer.
We frequent this place during camping season! The food is fantastic and the service is on point. It's a busy place so either make reservations or sit and enjoy a drink. The wait staff really hustles!
