Heuriger & Vinothek Fabian

A well executed modern take on the traditional Austrian Heuriger (wine pub / restaurant). The building is very modern with an outside terrace, so not like a traditional Heuriger at all. The wine and food offer is more familiar, basically lots of things that go well with wine - local bread with sliced cheese, amazing sharing plates containing cold cuts (the ham was so yummy, we fought over very slice), pork scratchings, grapes and cheeses. We scoffed the lot. There are several fixed combinations of 4 wines to taste. We enjoyed many of them and ended up buying three boxes of wine at the end. Service is very friendly and quick. Recommended for a lazy summer day guzzling wine in the sunshine.

The place is not very close to the lake, in fact it0s on the street that brings you outside of the village of Podersdorf. But it's really pleasant, tidy and cosy. We stayed inside because the weather wasn't good - unfortunately, because the Vinothek has a nice terrace outside, close to the street but fine and welcoming. The wine tasting was good and we ordered also two "side" dishes, which were surprisingly wide and satisfying: two slices of bread - with cheese and veggies for me (I don't eat meat) and with salami sausage for my boyfriend.They present a wide range of wine tasting solutions, really worth trying. You must stop there if you visit Podersforf!

Essen war sehr gut, die Portionen gerade ausreichend. Schade, dass es keine gemischte Platte für eine Person ähnlich einer Bretteljause) gibt. Zum Glück waren wir zu viert und konnten somit zwei gemischte Platten nehmen. Die verschiedenen Arten der Weinverkostung klingen auch sehr interessant.

Wir haben eine Golfcart-Fahrt durch die Weinberge gebucht und hatten eine amüsante Zeit mit vielen interessanten Informationen, gutem Wein und vielen neuen Eindrücken. Auch der anschließende Besuch im Heurigenlokal war hervorragend, sowohl das Speisenangebot als auch die Sauberkeit und der freundliche Service haben unseren Aufenthalt in Podersdorf zu einem Highlight gemacht. Absolut empfehlenswert.
