Kastanienhof - Neuhaus-Schierschnitz

For overnight stay ok if you don't get the room opposite the kitchen. From 04.00, this serves as a common kitchen for the permanent guests. Staff very friendly and breakfast completely o.k. Unfortunately no restaurant nearby so from to Sonneberg. Recommendation.

A small nice hotel all you need Pension Breakfast. The hotel is clean and it is very nicely furnished. The employees are very nice and you can see that they like to do their work. Despite corona there was a wide selection of breakfast.

We wanted to spend a weekend in Neuhaus-Schierschnitz and have booked the Hotel Kastanienhof for this reason. At the first moment I was shocked because cleanliness in the entrance area is not very high. But in the room it was clean, which I was very surprised about. The next morning we were breakfasts. The breakfast buffet came very empty but it was delicious. Next to our table there was a chest of drawers on the wall, which was very dollly dusted in. We paid 75,00 € for one night incl. breakfast. Unfortunately we had to leave earlier than planned by a very strong illness in the family. We asked if it was possible to cancel the second night, only the lady at the reception said she was watching what she can do, but she thinks she gets it. When we wanted to check out at 3:00 p.m., you then told us that we had to pay both nights completely, as the boss who was just on vacation is asking. I would have understood if we had paid for a late departure, but we had to pay completely. I personally find the hotel quite expensive for the condition and location.

Hotel room not clean: liquor bottles behind the bed, hair on the duvet cover, generally living ambience. Not all lamps functional. Mattress covered. House extremely bright, one heard the snoring of the neighbor. Breakfast buffet not filled, overwhelmed service.
