Cool place in the middle of nowhere. A rustic (albeit new) log cabin with local charm. Service was outstanding. Food was good but I believe frozen, which isn't surprising as EVERYTHING in the upper peninsula of Michigan is frozen, including my toes. View all feedback.
What Nancy Warren doesn't like about Hardwood Steakhouse:
There was 1 empty table in the main room; several in the bar area. After 15 minutes of waiting, we left never served or acknowledged. There was only 1 waitress trying to do it all. I have eaten there before and never had this experience View all feedback.

Attentive waitress and excellent food. Enjoyed our dinner.
Service was lacking, multiple mistakes, steak not cooked to order, sand in salad. I regretted not eating snacks instead this evening. Arrived 2 hours before close. The impression I got was they were busy cleaning up so they could close on time that day.
It was a very nice and welcoming place, and staff. We enjoyed the steaks and drinks. It was a welcomed stop during our drive from Alberta to Quebec.
The wait was horrible. I think it took about 30 minutes before our food order was taken as the waitress forgot her slips when she brought our drinks and that’s about how long it took for her to make it back. The food was alright, nothing spectacular but better than one might expect. Wheelchair accessibility: Good looking ramp
