Amazing meal in charming traditional restaurant, food was delicious and some of the best in Andalusia. The meat so tasty, seasoned and tender. We loved it, and the Rioja was fantastic!
A lovely spot to watch the world go by in Plaza Espana. The super friendly and welcoming owners Paqui and Antonio do everything themselves and make you feel at home. The food, wines and service are excellent. The meat and fish is cooked over charcoal which makes all the difference to the taste and we also really enjoy the tasty baked potatoes that come alongside. Great place to just have a sharing plate of jamon or queso which come with lovely tomato bread and match the wines perfectly. Highly recommended.
Food and good treatment! a little abandoned on the terrace but very well anyway, the only glue is that we have asked the waitress not to put the black pearls in the entrecot and has forgotten. Everything else is fine! To finish the night we were invited to a glass of cava.
Salamandra is located in Plaza de España, Nerja. This was my first time in Salamandra, as it also was for my four fellow diners and we chose to dine outside on the terrace – generally the preferred option since the pandemic. With our initial drinks order came a complimentary tapas of paella. Good start to proceedings. We decided upon a ‘share all’ approach to lunch and ordered a variety of starters and main courses, which included aubergine and nut croquettes, a tableau of Iberian meats and cheese, pulpo a la gallega, pork sirloin served with jacket potato, clams, scallops with prawns…A nice selection. A bottle of white wine provided the liquid accompaniment to our meal. The service was very good, presentation good, overall food quality good (although, for me personally, the pulpo could have been a little more tender. It wasn’t ‘chewy’, as sometimes happens, just not as ‘melt in the mouth’ as in some other places). The square was, as it invariably is, pretty quiet which made for a nice, relaxing meal and conversation didn’t require raised voices. The restaurant is obviously aiming at the 'fine dining end of the market, which is reflected in their prices (around €30pp on this occasion), and they are certainly on their way to that goal.
Had lunch here and was excellent. Presentation is great and plates well rounded with tons of flavor. Excellent food, staff was super friendly and welcoming and establishment was very clean. Had a really good meal, I recomend eating here, the oxtail is a fantastic dish for dinner and very well made.
