I’ve been in Nerja before and this time I decided to search around and try different bars/ restaurants which, if you check out my recent reviews, you’ll see I’ve managed to do. Cochrane is a fantastic location overlooking the sea and a lovely bay, Playa El Salon. The beer is excellent and is sensibly priced. The bar food is the best I’ve come across! Club sandwiches to die for! It certainly is a great place to relax... View all feedback.
What ArvidKrogh doesn't like about Cochran's Terraza:
Quite messy and a lot of confusion among the service members. We got attention after 15-20 minutes. There is a great potential in this place. Hopefully better next time. View all feedback.
Bar was recommended. 1st time we came there was a big wedding going on. Service was rubbish but we could see that staff were working really hard, so understandable delays. Went back couple of nights later....dour, miserable staff and awful service. Definitely nae Irish welcome here. The toilets are a joke....huge venue with 1 men's cubicle 2 women's. Down a flight of wet, slippy stairs, strewn with rubbish big queues. Avoid!

Unfortunately not a great experience just down to one rude waiter Antonio. My husband and I ordered a chicken sandwich platter and a salad to share. The order came and we each bit into one of the sandwiches. We both at the same time were wondering where the chicken was bearing in mind the sandwiches are cut into small triangles) we realised after a couple of bites that they had sent the wrong order . We were eating the vegetarian option. Normally we wouldn 't bother about this but it was literally an avocado sandwich . I politely told the waiter Antonio about the wrong order . He was unfortunately rude . He looked completely put out and looked at the plate and said you 've eaten half of it . I tried to explain we were sharing the platter so we had eaten one triangle each and were looking for the chicken to appear . He wasn 't happy with this and walked off in a huff . I felt extremely annoyed , we are not the type of people to eat half a meal and then send it back. These were two small triangle sandwiches, we ate one each before we realised there was no chicken. I spoke to him again a few minutes later and explained again , I also told him he was really rude and that 's not how you treat customers. However he couldn 't of cared less . No apology, just an arrogant shoulder shrug. The manager though, was really nice and so was the young waiter who brought our drinks . The two cats that we fed were more polite and more charismatic than Antonio . . Apart from this , it 's a pleasant place to lunch .

This bar/restaurant has a lot going for it in terms of views, but the standard of service and the state of the toilets needs to be improved big time if this place is to continue to trade. A shake up of staff and some training in common courtesy would be very beneficial. Nerja is a fabulous place and it's important to keep up these standards.
