A lovely little hideaway coffee house. The interior feels like we were transported to England or a completely different place, it is that cozy. We appreciated the outside balcony as well, with the trellis over looking the stream and park. And the drinks are all so creative. Definitely get ANY of the frappes, the chai cookie, or the cinnamon muffin. View all feedback.
What Dusty Oberg doesn't like about The Haven Coffee House Roasting Co:
first off, location and atmosphere was great!!! it is quite the lovely quaint little shop. upon reading other reviews and discovering they roast their own beans, I am even more disappointed in my lackluster white mocha. my first sip was akin to that of a failing 24 hour convenience store who 's double brewing their coffee to save a buck. lacked flavor and was very watered down. would definitely recomend driving 20 mi... Great place to get off the highway and grab a coffee. Simple pricing structure for flavored coffee; one price for each size drink. Pleasant staff. Lovely cafe space for drinking your coffee at the cafe or enjoy the back balcony.
This is such a cute cafe! The coffee is delicious and the staff are wonderful. We were on a road trip and it was super easy and quick to get to from I-15, and easy to hop back on.
This was a very cute coffee shop and I loved the atmosphere of it. Great customer service! Thank you for that experience on my trip.
I had really high hopes that I found an amazing little coffee gem. The shop itself is cozy, inviting, and clean. They have nice little signs about the different characteristics of each type of bean, and the staff was very friendly. Sadly it was downhill from there. There was no descriptions of the roasted beans inside the bags on the for sale bags of coffee. The description on the bags was the same description on the signs above that just listed general characteristics of beans from that country. For such a small roaster I would have expected a description of each individual roast on the bag label. In addition to roast level and date that it was roasted.Since this shop is very proud of roasting their beans in house. I found the staff’s lack knowledge of the roasts they had very frustrating. Any place that roasts its own beans should train their staff coffee drinks and not just espresso based drinks. The simplest way to do this is with a pour over. Because a well made pour over highlights the unique flavors of the roast. Coffee is about the experience as much as the taste, and without being able to experience a freshness made cup of coffee. That tastes as the roaster intended it to taste. It’s no different than going to grocery store and picking a bag of beans based on the label.Since the only option for hot coffee was an espresso based drink or premade drip coffee. I got a medium roast drip coffee. It was very meh, and tasted like average you can get anywhere drip coffee. I was hoping to buy a couple of bags of beans since I’m running low on beans, but since all I had to go by was an unimpressive cup of drip coffee. I decided not to get any beans.I travel all over the Western US, and it’s hard to fun good coffee in UT, so when I find it. It stopped to get a coffee and a few bags of beans. If this was just a coffee shop and not a coffee roaster I would have given it 4 stars, but as a coffee roaster and coffee shop. It gets 2 stars because it didn’t set itself apart from places that don’t roast in house.
What a treasure this coffee shop is!!! Abundant choices and seating inside, outside and downstairs. They have creative drinks, so get out of your comfort zone and try something new!! Perhaps the Madhatter?! Chai and Raspberry...what?!! I don't even like Chai...but soooo good!!! Bravo Haven Coffee House, BRAVO!!
