Description

**Mod Thai: A Mixed Bag of Experiences**

Mod Thai at Shoal Bay garners a wide range of opinions from diners. While some appreciate its affordable prices and unpretentious ambiance, others find the food lacking authenticity and flavor. Highlights include the spicy flat rice noodle dish and friendly service, yet inconsistencies in dishes like Massaman curry and red curry have disappointed some patrons. Many visitors recommend making a reservation due to its popularity, especially during peak times. Despite its flaws, many return for its reliability and tasty options like Thai fried rice, making it a staple for both locals and tourists alike.

The food was terrible, and the environment was very unwelcoming. When I called the restaurant to ask about their closing time, the person who answered the phone told me they would be closing at 9:30 pm. However, when I arrived at 8 pm, I received a very unwelcoming greeting. I ordered some appetizers and main dishes. Apart from the Tom Yum soup, the other dishes were bland, flavorless, and tasteless. It seems like the chef needs to learn how to cook Thai food.
