I lived in Nelson over seven years ago, and it was my go-to spot for a weekly treat that I still dream about. Now living in Christchurch, I have many options, but nothing compares to Akbaba's! My usual order includes a large bun and falafel, which is always delicious. The chicken is consistently juicy and fresh, while the pita is perfectly fluffy and soft on the inside but still has a nice crunch on the outside. The flavors are incredible! The salads are always fresh, with the option of adding tabbouleh—yum! And the rice? Oh my, it's almost the star of the plate! I don’t know what they do to it, but it's amazing! Everything is topped off with fresh, flavorful sauces and two varieties of hummus. The service is fantastic as well. I believe the owner is the one running the show, and they do an outstanding job!

The service was exceptional, and the food was equally delightful. The restaurant has a wonderfully cozy atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone in the area. I’ll definitely return, even though I'm next in Nelson! 10/10!
