What Freddie Campbell doesn't like about Crown Sceptre Inn:
Stopped here for lunch on the way to the cottage we rented for our holiday last week. There was Covid guidance on display, including a one way system, but no one except for us appeared to be using it. We ordered sandwiches and a couple...of portions of garlic bread. Food was ok, not too long a delay in getting it and the sandwiches were on thick bread and of ample portions. Nothing too complicated but simple pub food... View all feedback. We had a meal here saturday evening, I had the hunters chicken, and my husband trio of pork with sweet chilli, and cheesy garlic bread, absolutly fabulous, and even though it was busy the standards still seemed high, very welcoming warm atmosphere, my only gripe...would be I had way to many chips, but that's just my opinion, (I dont really like waste), overall would definitely be visiting again but will ask for not a... read moreI understand that they closed during Covid, but now they have reopened. The sea bass is fabulous and the service is friendly and welcoming.
Standard pub eat, very tasty and good value. service was excellent and fast with a group size of 14
A bit of a let down. The place was scruffy, the toilets not very clean. The food was fair and the room was cold. Don't think we'll be going back anytime soon.
