This local pub is absolutely fantastic, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The Steak Ale Pie and Scampi and chips were excellent - generous portions and delicious flavors. The Sea Bass and ginger fish cakes were a standout dish that I would highly recommend. Kudos to the chef and the entire team for a job well done. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. View all feedback.
What Pathfinder783681 doesn't like about Angel Inn:
Had a drink earlier in the day after a walk and thought we 'd go back for an evening meal. Despite the pub not full at all and plenty of tables available, we got turned away for a meal for 2 at 6.20pm because we 're not doing walk ins . Monday night ? Clearly don 't need the business View all feedback.
I stopped by for Sunday lunch and was greeted by very attentive and helpful staff. The food was excellent and everyone appeared to be very satisfied.

The food at this restaurant was fresh and delicious. I had the hunter's chicken and my husband had the lasagna. The service was excellent and there was no waste. We had a lovely evening and we will definitely be back soon.
Popped in before our beautiful walk around the waterfalls, decided to book a table for two at 6. Gentleman that took our booking was very polite and accommodating. Unfortunately on our return the continued good service by the other staff was non existent. Everything seemed too much trouble for the staff and they were quite rude. Was never once asked if our meal was ok and when I asked if the lady behind bar could top up a glass of wine with soda(which we had asked the waitress to fill the glass with soda when ordering), was rudely told, “I will do it once I’ve finished doing this!”. Food, wasn’t great and after hearing one of the waitresses loudly shout from the kitchen, “We have all heard of the 5 second rule, but come on!” After myself and my partner spent the rest of the night taking it in turns on the toilet, vomiting and diarrhoea, in hindsight’s we should have ran for the hills after hearing the waitress announce the 5 second rule, before our food arrived. Everyday is learning day. We will not be returning to the Angel and I hope they give their staff more training.
Actually ended up here because the pub across the road had stopped serving food, it does see, a thing in this area that people eat earlier than we would, we arrived at 7:30 and they checked to make sure food was still being served which thankfully it was. The staff was friendly enough a little different from the Old White Horse around the corner but more of a local friendly. You choose a seat and order inside. Drinks came out quickly and the food followed not long after. It was very busy to start with but by 8pm the outside had emptied and we were sat alone. This wasn 't an issue but the light above us kept turning on and off which was slightly annoying. I had the Steak and Ale pie, the pastry didn 't cover the pie but it was very nice, the chips were also great but my peas were not to my liking and even though they looked like garden peas they tasted closer to mushy peas. Never the less I really enjoyed my food. My partner had the cajun chicken burger which was slightly too spicy for her but I thought it was okay. Typical pub atmosphere, I can 't remember the last time I was eating my dinner listening to Hot Chocolates You Sexy Thing
