Description
Nestled in a historic setting, this pub and hotel experience has drawn mixed reviews from patrons. While some guests enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, live music, and hearty meals like massive nachos and schnitzels, others lament slow service and rude interactions with staff, particularly the owner. Complaints about undercooked food and unresponsive management have surfaced, overshadowing the positive aspects. Though valued for its rich history and charm, the establishment appears to struggle with consistency in hospitality and customer care, making it a gamble for those seeking a pleasant dining experience with family or friends.

Five stars for style and atmosphere! The bar is fantastic, and there are some wonderfully eerie touches throughout. Just a heads up: it can get quite chilly in your room in June. The friendly staff will provide a heater, which helps (at least for half of the room). However, you should note that it lacks some typical hotel comforts, such as a private bathroom, soundproofing from road noise, and breakfast service. Despite these drawbacks, it was still a very intriguing experience. We might consider returning in the summer!
Disappointing experience! Overpriced and poor service! When we visited, it felt like the waitress was just reading from a script, which made for an awkward interaction. It was also disheartening to discover that there was no tap beer at a hotel with such a rich history. It’s puzzling why they would transform a historic pub into a restaurant only. I've heard that locals are quite disappointed with the changes made to this establishment. On a more positive note, at least it’s being maintained and isn’t falling into disrepair, so it will continue to exist.
