Since it was a new area for us, I asked Google for recommendations and we settled on Sai Prasad because it seemed like a Udupi restaurant where we could find good food. Following Google Maps, we arrived at Sai Prasad located on a wide street with plenty of street parking available. Despite it being 9:00 am, the restaurant was clean and the service was quick. The menu offered a variety of vegetarian options, from idli and dosa to popular dishes like batata vada served with pao and misal pao. I ordered the batata vada with pao and was pleased with the fresh vadas and tasty green chutney, although I missed the traditional dry garlic chutney. We also enjoyed some delicious chai and more batata vadas. The Idli-Sambhar was also excellent. Overall, the service was fast and efficient, the washroom was clean, and we left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. These small local eateries are definitely worth exploring rather than opting for fast food chains. I highly recommend Sai Prasad for a tasty meal while traveling from Mumbai through Panvel. It may be a slight detour from the highway, but it's definitely worth it.
