Enjoyable meal. Good choices. Experienced restaurant.

They charge 17% gratuity then 15% service fee that they couldn’t explain, then the waiter asked for personal tip. 32% included tip is a bit much.

Service was slow. Servers were not attentive. We advised the hostesses that our autistic daughter would sit in my lap and did not need a designated seat but they kept making a place setting for her. After ordering drinks, no one noticed that we haven’t ordered food and they did not replenish drinks after the first round. My husband had to continually top up wine from our bottle and my son left with a soda can as his second drink.

We ate here on our last night in Nassau. Upon entering you feel like you are going to have a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is very conducive to being able to enjoy this spot on the marina. However, just like most island vacation spots the employees are burnt out and are not trying to impress their guests. The food runner brought out our sushi and accidentally spilled my water. Our entire table was covered with water and he never returned to sop it up. We asked various servers several times walking by for assistance. I finally got up and asked to speak to the manager “Michael.” He was quite charming and came over to the table for inspection. He replaced our water but our table still was not dry. Not being offered olives in my husbands martini’s and no lime for my tequila shots is not going to get you a above average rating. Waiting for our check for over 20 minutes at the bar after dinner was like being punished too. The service here is blah, but when you’re on a vacation you must remember “Island Time” Cafe Matisse is where you can go for ambience, service and good food.

Hostess seemed like they didn’t want to be there and could care less. Not even a smile. Server was super fun and happy. Great meal. Fun time.
