10s across the board. It's worth the wait! I tried the fried avocado, tilapia, and Carne molida tacos along with the Cuban black beans with plantains and dill yogurt. The Carne molida was . The other tacos were tasty, but the Carne molida taco was exceptional . NOW, those Cuban black beans with plantains and dill yogurt were doing the good Lord's work!!! I mean down right, kick ya mama in her damn shin good!! Overall, a very good experience. Customer service was top-tier, too.
What Moné Monet doesn't like about Mas Tacos Por Favor:
Not sure how this place is so hyped up because their food is mid at best. I got the chicken tacos, vegetarian taco, and elote. The chicken taco said it was cooked in a cast iron skillet but it looked and tasted like it was boiled in water with no seasoning. Just dry and bland. Same with the sweet potatoes and quinoa for the vegetarian taco. No flavor and so visible spices. The saving grace of my whole meal was the el... View all feedback.
Great service excellent food quality workers who empathize and meet the customers needs
This was such amazing food and the staff was super friendly and prices were very reasonable. You order at an outdoor window and then grab a seat or wait for a to go order. We got the chicken tortilla soup, beef tacos, and the sweet plantains. Everything was really amazing. The atmosphere inside was loud as it was packed due to rain. There’s an outside seating area as well.
Day four of our road trip. Tasty tacos. Not much more to say here. They are aiming for and hit the cool superior taco joint vibe. It isn't cheap. But it is good. The bottle of local beer was rubbish, can't remember what it was called. But that isn't their fault perhaps it is what people like in Nashville?
On a whim, we stopped at Mas Tacos while in Nashville. We had lucked out as it was Wednesday- tamale day! The tamales were perfectly steamed with chicken and veggies in the center so tasty, I knew they were authentic. Other items we had were the fried avocado taco and the chicken and pork tacos. All were deemed of the highest quality and deliciousness. The elote took me to the streets of Guadalajara and the black beans and plantain dish was fabulous. Several of my group got seconds and we all (5 of us) got orders to go! My frozen Paloma was the perfect blend of tequila and grapefruit. My friend had the sangria and thought it was balanced between the wine and fruit. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. Basically window/counter service, the food was delivered quickly and when one order had a slight, error, the staff made it right immediately! I will definitely be back when I return to Nashville!!
VEGETARIANS AND MEDITERRANEAN EATERS BEWARE! I live in the neighborhood and was very happy to finally stop in at a time when I got a spot in the shade to park and there wasn’t a long line at the window for Ordering. The young woman at the window was unfriendly and unhelpful. I ordered one taco that was rather disgusting and one which Was exceptionally good. I gave it a three since that averages the two. However, if I had added in my nasty tasting beverage and the poor window service, it would’ve taken it down ant least Another Star. First with the good… I had a fried Avocado taco, which was really tasty and well executed. Now the bad… I also had the sweet potato and quinoa taco. DON’T ORDER THIS UNLESS YOU PLAN TO BE DISAPPOINTED! Well, that’s MY foodie opinion. The sweet potato was undercooked, the quinoa was mushy and had a disgusting texture, and watery bland taste. Frankly, it added nothing to the taco since there was already grain in the corn tortilla. A better Taste and nutritional balance would have been to have Actually cooked the sweet potato through, then added some Red peppers, Grilled onions, or black beans for protein. With the cabbage and sauce, that would have made it a winner also. If you’re a vegetarian or following a Mediterranean diet, your options are very limited. The fish and avocado are both fried… I haven’t had the fish, but the Avocado was certainly worth The additional calories if you could handle the breading. It was nice and Crisy, not at all oily. More disappointment… If you want a beverage that has no sugar or alcohol you have one option… Agua Fresca (I think is what they call it). Sounds so delicious. This one had pineapple and ground cilantro. It was the only option…at least today. Cilantro is a really intense flavor to which people tend to respond strongly… either love or hate… and I happen to strongly dislike biting into it, but find it adds to some things in small quantities. The unfriendly girl at the Window Wasn’t really helpful when I tried to ask about how it was made or if there was plain water option, so I opened my mind. Well, they blended it in like a purée, so I guess that counts as fighting into it sort of… Actually, it’s worse than biting into it. Frankly it made me want to hurl…(that and the quinoia). I could barely recognize the pineapple in it! it’s kind of hard when the beverage that you’re counting on to wash down your food, especially food that you don’t like, is more offensive to you than the unpleasant food that you were washing down. I over-tipped, given the terrible window service, but felt better about it because the folks at the counter inside were lovely, And I know that tips are shared. In retrospect, I wish I hadn’t given that I felt like I had to press to get my money back Since they had nothing else that I could buy to drink on the menu without sugar or alcohol. I could have traded for a taco, but the only non-meat taco that was the same cost as the beverage was the quinoa and sweet potato, which I forced down just to avoid having to complain about more than one thing and since I was hungry. This is a very popular neighborhood restaurant. I’ve eaten there before when I wasn’t having as many health concerns, but frankly, I don’t remember what I ate and nothing eaten there previously left a memorable positive impression. The place itself is a hole in the wall and feels kind of dirty inside. I chose to sit outside and endure 95° weather, if that says anything about it. They also don’t take cash, which has become increasingly common, but I find it to be Annoying and inconvenient. To each his own, I’d go back for the avocado taco if I had my own beverage in hand, and I would Willingly try a different kind of taco if it fits my dietary needs that day. Mad Tacos would be well served to offer people, a plain sparkling water or club soda option for folks who don’t want tap water, sugar or alcohol. They should also rethink their disgusting, sweet potato and quinoa taco! YUK!
