Went for brunch, had the steak and egg, orange juice and a lime water. The juice is freshly pressed and the steak was perfectly seared. My wife had the Appalachian and let me say that the those eggs were beyond perfect. Slightly pressed my don't turn out that way at home. Staff was attentive and the kitchen flowed very well. Will return! View all feedback.
We were visiting Nashville for the weekend and got a last-minute reservation for dinner at Audrey. We arrived a little early for our reservation, but the hostess seated us right away.Since it was our first time and wanted to try as much as we can, we opted for The Feast, which costs $99 per person. Our server, Garrett, walked us through the menu and made adjustments as my date does not eat pork. For the first wave, we had Sourdough with Butter, Mister Stripey Tomato, and Fried Apples. Each of this dish was more than what we expected in terms of quality and taste. It was mindblowing. For the second wave, we had Killed Lettuce and Onions, Cherokee White Grits, and Lamb Belly and Sweet Potato Skewer. The grits was so delicious and the lamb belly and sweet potato skewer with paw paw sauce was excellent! For the third wave, we had Audrey 's Chicken and Dumplings, Bone-in NY Strip Steak, and Potatoes with Sassafras. It was impressive how these traditional dishes were upscaled using Appalachian ingredients. For dessert, we had an Apple Cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream. I can not describe how heavenly this dessert is. With the food and the ambiance, Audrey is definitely a must visit in Nashville. I could not wait to visit this restaurant again when I return to Nashville.

The cuisine is totally amazing... full of umami! The salt level was totally on point (NOT OVERLY SALTY) and the quality used in this salt was noticeably on another level. The fried okra and grits reminded me of home, where we had tobacco hanging from the ceiling in the barn. The prices for the portions were great, considering the enormous tax rate for any drinks elsewhere.
Best Date Night Ever!Being from Wise, VA, this place took me back to my roots with a modern twist. My husband is more of a city boy but we both had an amazing experience here.We did the Chef’s courses and wine pairings plus the special tomatoes. My favorites:Cornbread with lard and corn butterLettuce and onions with grease dressingWhite corn grits with egg yolkChicken and dumplings so amazing you’re going to dream about how this tasted on your pallet!Back in southwest VA, we grew up on grandma’s “killed lettuce and onions.” The only thing I regret is that I didn’t save the rest of my cornbread to crumble up in the lettuce and onions. I would have also loved to eat it with my fingers but I recognized I was in a restaurant and not grandma’s kitchen. Note to self: remember to eat with utensils in restaurant. My city boy hubby’s favs were:Apples wrapped up in baconWhite corn grits with egg yolkScallops and mushroomsNeither one of us enjoyed the NY Strip steak much. The peach cobbler was pretty tasty.Meal was very pricey but that’s because we opted for a taste of it all. The atmosphere, food, service (Rebecca did an amazing job) and overall experience was truly exceptional! ?
For several months, my wife I were excited to visit our first Sean Brock restaurant to celebrate an Anniversary....we were really looking forward to this evening.COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED!!!What should be the goal of a fine restaurant? Perhaps the food....Upon arrival, this is a wonderful restaurant, nicely decorated and great ambiance. The staff is responsive and professional. Even the menu is beautifully written, describing in detail each food item offered. Regrettably, it stops at the food. Our first course was a smoked oyster appetizer. Awful is the best way to describe it. Drenched in some creamy white sauce, they were purely disgusting. No taste. Just a plate of sauce that buried the oysters.Next up, the highly touted cornbread. Never have I tasted something with so much salt...and I love salt. It looks beautiful but tastes terrible. We asked both the Waiter and Sommelier their recommendation on the main course (fish or beef) they both said to go with the steak.Dry tasteless is what we were served. Honestly, I've had much better steak at Outback. In the end, we were highly disappointed with Audrey. This wasn't a simple mistake made on one course, the entire meal was a disaster. What's more, everything else about the restaurant is wonderful. So I scratch my head wondering how so many positive reviews are possible? We shared our experience with some close friends who are big F B people. They said they were not surprised, as they had heard others report similarly. But they didn't want to taint our judgment going into the night, so they held their tongue until after.Audrey deserves a ZERO when it comes to food. Save your money and go to McDonald's.
