it was nice to find some Chinese food among many southeast comfort eating options in this opposite. don't get me wrong, I love it all! the waiting staff and the cook were very well informed about their vegan options. we had the early roll and two Tofu dishes. they have ordered a page of rice if they want to get it with theirs. the tofu dishes each had a light sauce with great aromen. the ingredients were really fresh... This place was absolutely delicious! Some very well made food from scratches with obvious attention to detail. The kung pao fried tofu and the zoodles were thrilled. Both dishes were full of amazing taste and together wonderful. The steam bunnies were also amazing. The rolls were obviously made in the house, and the chicken was tender, and tastefully made with some delicious house pickles. Sooooo good! We even took every dessert home and both the pineapple cake and the spiced doughnut holes had to die!
Fantastic experience. Chef Ryan's food is ethereal. His Mapo Tofu is better and spicier than the version I had eaten three weeks ago at Szechuan Gourmet in Manhattan. And that says something. In fact, its Sichuan-Southern fusion cuisine is now a popular culinary experience!
The meals at TKO are fresh, creative and delicious. The owners and employees are very attentive to details in their food preparation and their diners. The No-Tipp policy is also a nice touch. I highly recommend it!
I'm not one for internet reviews usually, but TKO is amazing and you should try it at the top of the places if you haven't visited yet. The roasted cauliflower was elsewhere, a must order. But everything was so delicious. We also had the steamed rolls with braided ham (so delicate) and pimples, the egg roll (ham, cabbage and onion with a super tasty pineapple sweet and sour), the twice cooked pork ribs (completely cooked with a delicious accompaniment of green and peanuts), and the fried chicken with orange sweet and acid glaze (we fight to eat the left jers. Portions are generous and the small and large plates are easy to share, so order a great variety and pass them around. The dessert is also incredible; we have basically inhaled some bite size cornmeal butter milk donuts and a steamed chocolate cake. I forgot my ID so sad, but the cocktails looked delicious and they have a nice beer selection. TKO is a bright, warm and open space with plenty of seating and a take-out area. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Let's be honest, this can be a rare thing in new Nashville spots nowadays. Anyone else read that? If so, please visit!
Best meal I've had in years. Love the fact the owner was our server and customized our meal.
