Remarkably friendly and fast service and absolutely delicious food from the beginning to the end. The cocktails are fresh and delish. Fries safe. Everything was just so good. With regard to the recent 2 star rating, please do not. There's always someone who's not happy!
Fantastic birthday celebration! Mark John went above beyond to ensure the special day was a memorable one. Food was outstanding, service remarkable and atmosphere exactly what we had in mind! Many thanks!
You can?t miss with Hathorne! From start to finish everything has been fantastic every time! The staff is warm and welcoming, each dish is carefully thought out, beautifully plated and perfectly seasoned and I?ve yet to have a cocktail I didn?t love! It?s a beautiful location, a relaxed but upscale environment and it checks all the boxes. Thanks y?all we?ll be back soon!
?sigh?I so desperately want to love this place! This was my second try. The first experience was heavily based on rude bartender service?and granted it was like a week after their original opening, but we hadn?t tried again until tonight. I figured several years later the kinks should be worked out. First, the ?pay before you play? for a reservation is a complete turn-off. I?ve never had to do this anywhere in Nashville. To some extent, I get it ? but there?s really too much competition in this city to charge $10 a person up front just to reserve your spot?and honestly it was 8:00 on a Saturday night and a half empty restaurant. I truly wonder how many people abandon this as an option simply because of that charge and choose somewhere else to dine. Hostess was amazing. Lily gave us several recommendations and reviewed some of her favorites on the menu. The server never gave us her name, but she did a good job ? even allowing me to taste a wine I had never heard of nor tried before. My classic Aviation cocktail was well-balanced and priced right. We ordered two small plates and a large plate. I felt the watermelon salad was excellent. It was a refreshing menu item that I?d consider coming back for. We ordered the goat cheese small plate which we overheard was a Hathorne staple and had been on the menu since they opened. Both my daughter and I found it ?ok.? Our large plate was the Korean dumplings which were just way to bold and overpowering for an ?entree-sized? serving. The chanterelles were the best part of the dish. The pepper was salty and just super bold. We split this dish and between the two of us could only eat half. Honestly, I don?t know what a Korean dumpling is supposed to taste like?nor it?s texture, but this plate missed the mark for us. We had planned to choose a dessert, but there was a terribly strong fish smell wafting about the patio, and honestly, we just couldn?t stomach being there anymore. We couldn?t identify where it was coming from and we overheard several people (including staff) trying to determine the origin. Needless to say, we both left hungry. We live so close to Hathorne and I do desperately want to love this charming neighborhood spot, but there are way too many enjoyable options in Nashville to spend a couple hundred dollars here. Perhaps third time might be a charm?but I?m not sure we are going to chance it.
