Been here many many times. The service is always fast. The place is clean and updated. The menu is easy to read and reasonably priced. They don't hold back the tequila in their margaritas. Overall, a great place. Highly reccomend! View all feedback.
What Chelsey Sporer doesn't like about El Sombrero:
we are often here, eating is consistent! I tried a few things, but the chili poblano is the best I had. it is not baked, it has an egg wash. get it with a side of hot mais tortillas. best. View all feedback.
Great food! the best place loves it here. friendly service always clean. I recommend this place definitiw. I'm going for Mexican food. Thank you!
Located in a strip mall next to the walmart and lowes, they can be sure to have a lot of traffic in this area. el sombrero is a clean, spacious place with the typical Mexican restaurant look made of dark wood stands and tables. they have a very extensive menu and lunch specialties. eating is also very typical of the TX-Mex style here in nashville. starting from the chips salsa, the chips were warm and the thick style. the salsa is a little thick and simple, although they can see more crumble in it. Being located in a strip mall adjacent to the Walmart and Lowes, you can be assured of lots of traffic in this area. El Sombrero is a clean, spacious place with the typical Mexican restaurant look of dark wood booths and tables. They have a very extensive menu and lunch specials. The food is also very typical of the TX-Mex style here in Nashville. Starting with the chips & salsa, the chips have been warm and the thick style. The salsa is a little thick and plain, though you can see herbs in it. (I add hot sauce.) We've found the tacos & burrito al pastor meat to be full of pineapple flavor, and the red sauce with it to be a little bitter and distracting. The steak & chicken combo fajitas are nicely flavored and come with a good mix of onion, pepper and tomato. You get the usual soft tortillas, guacamole and sour cream. Beans & rice sides are typical of other places and pretty bland. Portions are generous and prices are competitive. Our service has always been very good. They have good happy hour specials available in the late afternoon, but since I'm always driving when I've been here, I've yet to enjoy them. But, they certainly look like good specials and good values. Overall, El Sombrero is pretty typical of the area. I wouldn't make it a destination meal, but I certainly wouldn't avoid it if in the area.
