This restaurant was my first taste of authentic American dining, and it didn't disappoint. It's a nice spot with friendly staff. The food was quite good; I had the half rack of ribs, and it was a unique experience. The atmosphere was enhanced by great music playing inside, and there were live bands performing almost every night on the patio. They also offer a two-for-one beer special, which is fantastic. What Trey Vaughn doesn't like about Drifters Tennessee Barbeque (bbq) Joint:
Go to PEG LEG or Jack’s BBQ. DRIFTERS was way below average. The waiter gave us pulled pork and it was supposed to be brisket. I told the waiter this is pulled pork and he said, no that’s brisket. The ribs were DRY and 3-4 days old. The greens were hard as a rock and had zero flavor. The “baked beans” were out of a can with zero flavor. They don’t have chili on the menu and it’s a bbq restaurant. BBQ restaurants have... View all feedback.
Truly amazing smoked bbq and food in general. It's a small quaint little spot just behind a tattoo place. Worth stopping at!
Love the old drifters pre-tornado, and glad to see that they have reopened. The environment is great, the prices are reasonable, and the food is pretty good. The bar service was always great, but since the reopening of the terrace service leaves much to be desired. More than once our server disappeared and even the internal personnel couldn't find him. he failed to wait for us at our faces and beverage orders (for a table of 2) after several hours. Other tables stood up and began to order at the bar because he was nowhere to find... and that probably happened to 3 visits in a row. I want to support the locals so they can find out!
Great food, good live music and excellent beer selection. Has the cleanest bathroom I was lucky to use during my visit. Parking was also free! Brisket was decent, the sauce the bomb. The Mac and the cheese are some of the best I had throughout Nashville.
Parking is tight, but there are parking lots. The outdoor seating is beautiful. You had live music. Service was good and friendly. I have the pulled chicken with Mac and cheese and hush puppies. The sides were good, but the chicken was very dry. Almost unbeatable. The design of beer is very cold. I wish the chicken was better.
Out of town for four days, my family went to dinner here all three nights in town. After our first night, we were hooked because of every aspect: the food, the atmosphere, the live music, and the service...... you will not find any better server than Ashley, who waited on us each night. She is so awesome, she even remembered our drink orders on the second day. Their patio is also dog friendly, so our pup was able to join us each night. We tried almost everything on the menu (their nachos are the attached photo) and came to the conclusion that Drifter's has the best BBQ. We will happily return just for this amazing experience! In conclusion, there is not any negative thing I can say about this place, other than it isn't in Knoxville, TN.
