What Dianna Johns doesn't like about J. Gumbo's:
Jambalaya was subpar at best. I should have changed my order when she served the last of what she had out front to the guy in line in front of me. She went in back and threw together what tastes like Spanish rices with boiled chicken and thin cut smoked sausage in it. Little to no taste. At least the bread was good. View all feedback. What Agustin Lindgren likes about J. Gumbo's:
the owner is beautiful and so helpful. She gave me some rehearsals so I could make it out. I ordered the voodoo chicken phoboy with chips for about $12. great brot. even left off, the chicken juices and aromen in the brot so there must be a knife and fork. very nice. I have to try back and eat more delicious. View all feedback.

read moreDiscover a hidden gem in Nashville where the flavors of Creole and Cajun cuisine come alive. Despite some mixed reviews, what stands out is the passion and care put into each dish by the owner. From the jambalaya to the Voodoo chicken po boy, every bite is filled with love and flavor. While some may have encountered issues with opening hours, the experience of dining here is worth the effort. The bread is exceptional, dishes like red beans and rice and gumbo are rich and complex, and everything is made from scratch. This restaurant is a must-visit for food enthusiasts looking for an authentic taste of New Orleans right in the heart of Nashville.
