What WilliamW579 doesn't like about Mercado Juarez:
Both visits were with large groups. First visit was about six years ago, and the host picked up the tab. Second visit each diner paid for their meal. Each time, most diners thought the food was average at best. Service was also average. I won't be back, even if someone else is buying. View all feedback.
We live on the north side of Dallas and all the Mercado Juarez locations near us have closed. We miss them! An event in downtown Ft. Worth brought us very close to this one. We were delighted to find it! It is just as good as we remember. My husband had the tacos and I had the fajitas in a senior's portion. There was plenty of delicious food for both of us. A sign on the door notes they are experiencing understaffing. However, on an early Tuesday evening we were seated immediately and served in a very timely manner. We're very satisfied and are already planning to return the next time we're over in this area.
Haven’t been to a Mercado Juarez in years. We used to have one in North Arlington but haven’t been to one since that one closed years ago. I was in Fort Worth with a friend and the place we were going to try was closed so he suggested Mercado Juarez. It was a good choice! They were busy but the restaurant is huge. We were able to be seated at a table with plenty of distancing from other tables. The employees we saw were all wearing masks. From the chips, salsa and hot (so hot we couldn’t touch them for awhile) tortillas that we were served to our meals, most everything was very good. I had the beef Chile Relleno with Ranchera sauce. It was excellent. The breading was a little thicker than I prefer but it was very good. There was plenty of beef and a I really enjoyed the Ranchera sauce. I also loved the flavor of the Pico. The guacamole I received as an appetizer was ok; nothing to get too excited about there but not bad. My friend had enchiladas and he was very complimentary. The only slight negative was that it appeared our server had too many tables to service. We had to wait for drink refills, our check, etc… longer than we cared for. But he was working hard and I know a lot of restaurants are having trouble right now finding enough help. This visit reminded me of how much I miss “our” Mercado Juarez in N Arlington. We’ll have to go back soon or visit the one in S Arlington before too long.
Saturday night around 5:30 and they were crowded. Plenty of parking though, and we did not have to wait too long ... 15-20 minutes I'm guessing. Worth the wait! Service was quick and server got our orders right. Food was hot, excellent, and very reasonably priced. I liked that they posted their tip policy and it suggested only 15% for outstanding service. No tip was required. We had so much food that we took some home, and total including drinks and tip for 2 people was under $40. The lighting was cheerful and bright enough that you could really see what you were eating. Very pleasant atmosphere, with nice paintings and pictures on the walls. I liked the chips and the salsa ... both fresh and not too spicy, but really good. We had come once before for a late lunch, and had been quite disappointed on that visit in both the food and the service. Very glad we tried it again. This visit both food and service exceeded our expectations. Rice was enhanced with veggie and the beans had real flavor. Tortillas fresh and large (ate some with just butter)
I have been coming to the Mercado Juarez restaurants for nearly 35 years. My favorite (and most convenient) was the one on Northwest Highway, but that location closed about a year ago. I do not live in Dallas, but I am there for work often, and I try to hit Mercado Juarez on every visit. I have not been to Dallas for close to a year, and on my last trip, I decided to give this location a try again. I have not been to this location for some time, and I was a bit apprehensive as to to the quality was it still as good? Fortunately, I was happily surprised by just how good it is still! We started with Margaritas, tasty as always. My favorite here is the warm salsa, so tasty and wonderful! And the fresh tortilla chips were awesome as well. On this occasion, for starters, we had Queso and Guacamole, both were excellent. For my main course, I usually get Enchiladas, but tonight I went with the carne asada fajitas and I must say, they were the best fajitas I have ever had! The meat was so flavorful and TENDER! Literally, and I know it's a cliché but the steak literally melted in my mouth. Incredible. My dining partner had Cabrito, perfectly cooked and full of flavor as well. Service is spectacular, happy people making people happy! With the plethora of Mexican restaurants here, you can be overwhelmed, but my go to is ALWAYS Mercado Juarez!
We held my husband's high school reunion here and had a room separate from the rest of the patrons, however, it was glassed in so we didn't feel so closed off. They were wonderfully accommodating and had long tables set up for us and there was plenty of room. I think there were about 50 of us? Not sure. Anyway, we were able to visit and then all of us sat down for our meal. We ordered fajitas for 2 and they may have been the best fajitas I have ever ordered. Delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant!
