We were hungry and took a chance at this roadside place it was terrific! The restaurant was spotless, including the restrooms, and the prices were very reasonable. We had the pasta and it may have been the best yet that is saying something for Italy. The sauce was was clearly homemade and the pasta was perfect. What a find. The bread was a bit hard, otherwise this little unknown would have gotten 5 stars. On the way... View all feedback.
What RRovigatti doesn't like about Albergo Da Carlo:
If you are traveling through and it is lunch time stop and have lunch here! It is simple but nice, and kind. The meal is good and include a buffet of antipasto, one primo, one secondo piatto, dessert, beverage and coffee! The pasta is very god and the meat too! View all feedback.

Ristrorante Da Carlo is a great place to stop during a trip from Rome to the Assisi.Very friendly staff good en fresh food for a good price.if you visit you will be surprised
We were on our way to Spoleto from the Rome airport, but we were going to get to Spoleto too late for lunch. We saw this place from the highway, and being hungry and not having seen anything else, decided to stop. It is a little hard to get to, since you have to leave the highway and go over a bridge to get to it, on the other side of the highway, but it is well signed. The place doesn't look like much, and as another reviewer has mentioned, it is basically a truck stop in a quasi-industrial area. The dining room is large and pretty simple. The menu was in Italian, German and English. Our waitress could not have been nicer or more friendly. She spoke no English and we speak no Italian, but we got along just fine. We each had a mixed antipasto plate, which was wonderful, and excellent pasta dishes. Simple food, but very well done. And the after-lunch expresso was superb. Our meal, including mineral water and a half liter of wine, cost €33. What a pleasant surprise.
At first sight you may not be impressed, as this is a truck stop. But in Italy the truckers do not stop unless the food and service are both very good. The bar and hotel are open from dawn till dusk and the large restaurant is open for lunch and for dinner. Newspapers are on sale too and the car park is huge. The welcome is very friendly and the food simple but excellent. You cannot really go wrong here, recommended!!!
