Emblematic pizzería in Vomero,Naples. Big line up to wait for a table but staff was very accommodating and we waited 20 minutes. The specialty pizzas were excellent. The fried pizza with filling was very good and not heavy on the tummy as you would think. These people know their pizza recipe! Also recommended are the fried seafood platters, fresh, crispy and crunchy. The house wine was absolutely wonderful aglianico... View all feedback.
What Kesha L doesn't like about Gorizia 1916:
Meh Decided to stop by for dinner on a Tuesday night as this was the only restaurant with a robust crowd. Ordered the parmigiana di melanzane (eggplant) it was perhaps one of the mist unsightly dishes Ive had in a long time. The taste was ok but overall it lacked appeal was quite mushy . Ordered the lemon marinated salmon it too was ok (not at all what I expected it was served cold and soaked in Olive Oil resting on... View all feedback.
We had an excellent dinner here on a Friday night in November. We rode the funicolare up the hill and walked to this restaurant nearby. There was a line of people waiting when we first got there, but we got lucky in that a few tables emptied and left right as we got there, so we sat down after only a couple of minutes wait. It's a little crowded and cramped probably not a good place to go if you have claustrophobia. Our waiter was superb! I was traveling with someone who spoke Italian and did most of our ordering that week, but our waiter here said he wanted to practice his English. He was very friendly and his recommendations for wine and food were top notch. We started off with the appetizer sampler with the potato croquettes and fried rice balls and fried mozzarella, then we each had our own pizza. I couldn't believe how inexpensive the pizza was! It was like 5 to 7 Euro for most of the pizzas, or 10 Euros for the fancy specialty pizzas. It was all very good. I liked the wine so much, I bought two bottles from the restaurant to pack in my suitcase and take home with me.
Very nice interior. Good location. Both had pizzas. Very nice and flavorful. Cooked just right. Staff was great and the atmosphere was fun.

Our first meal in Naples was at Pizzeria Gorizia 1916. The entrance looks like a very (very) small mom and pop (American) restaurant, where one would mainly go to pick up an order. We walked through part of the kitchen and the server's station to get to the main dining area, which was beautiful. Service was friendly and patient with us. Can't remember what we ordered exactly but my American taste buds were a little confused. (Of course that's expected). What I do recall is lots of dough and olive oil. Overall, everything was lovely but unfortunately the food and wine was not that memorable.
Went for lunch here and it is truly the best pizza in all of Naples. Makes sense they have been doing it a while. Lol
