Once a bad a neighbourgh, Antignano market is now a pleasant venue for a smart dinner. Its fish seller, Fish experience, after sunset became a cheap and tasty spot for a meal fish based. Adviceable

We stayed for 3 days in Vomero and we visited this restaurant twice. Napoli football team was playing in one occasion so we the venue was almost empty. Quality and quantity of food is excellent, staff is friendly. Location is typical and cosy. Recommended

The idea behind the restaurant is brilliant: cook in the evening the fish that was not sold during the morning. This guarantees always fresh food: it implies that the menu can vary from a day to another, but it is part of the fun. I ate there with some friends and we tried paranza (different fish fried together, a dish typical of humble but tasty Italian kitchen) and grilled octopus. Also the white vin maison was good and adapt to the fish we ordered. Service is reasonably fast and personnel was kind. It is also possible to glance at the kitchen, that usually is synonym of high quality. It definitely worth the price, which anyway was not high at all.

Have been to Fish Experience yesterday (14 august) for dinner. We have been lucky to come around 20 to 8 and not find many people queuing. We sat not far from the kitchen, which was good as they served us first. We took zuppa di cozze as a starter, grilled sward fish and squid for the main liter of white (a bit sparkling) house wine for 2. The zuppa was good, moderately spicy with big, fresh and not over cooked mussels. The grilled stuff came prepared in Palermo way, as we were told covered with bread crumbs and lots of olive oil. Well, as a result, both sward fish and squid tasted the same: olive oil burned bread crumbs with light aftertaste of fish. Paid 43 euros in 2 and left after 1 hour as of the moment we were seated. Conclusion: maybe the guys should serve just fish letting the customers to decide whether whey want to add oil, lemon or something else. Or adding those bread crumbs they simply increase the weight of fish, making you pay more?!

This area during the day is a bustling fresh fish and vegetable market, up until recently it was quiet at night. Now with the arrival of the Fish Experience restaurant, a pub, an open air drinks kiosk and an excellent gelateria, it caters to all your needs. The excellent fishmonger ' Peppino ' transforms in the evening into an open air restaurant, the fish they serve is excellent, the waiters young and enthusiastic, if you fancy some French fries the pub next door are happy to oblige and the young man who runs the kiosk is happy to serve drinks while you wait for your meal, idem for post dinner coffee. He takes making a good coffee seriously and threw away two cups of decaff before he was happy with the result. The gelateria Infante just round the corner finishes the meal off nicely. All in all a great place to spend a summer evening.
