You'll need to ask for that too;... read more The food is excellent, but the service leaves much to be desired. If you want toast, you'll have to request it. Need a refill? You'll need to ask for that too; they’ll give you a cup and you can pour it yourself. It felt warmer outside than inside the restaurant. It seems that male customers receive much better service, which is disappointing!

This Saturday for our birthdays and again in the fall for the colors and fun at Spengler's. We come from Jackson,Mi, Fort Wayne, IN, and Oregon, Oh. We love Spengler's and always have a great time and great food. Can't wait!

My wife... read more Inexpensive, plain American food. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with fries. It was perfect! The fries were piping hot and had been fried in fresh oil. My wife had a shredded chicken sandwich on a hamburger bun, with a side salad. Satisfying, simple meals. Not spicy or overly seasoned. Perfect on a cold, winter day. The atmosphere is great. 14-foot tin ceilings from 1879. Loud, but with a packed restaurant of people talking, not music playing. This is the way it should be.
