We eat at Bice quite often, and this time the food was OK, service was not good. Waited over minutes to get our bill, and the waiter only came to our table to take our orders, never really checked in to see if we were enjoying our food, or if we needed anything.
It drives me crazy when a restaurant comes off as polished and every time they bring something to the table they have to ask who ordered the XXXX. I can get that service at some place much less expensive. It also felt like there were no warm fuzzies. I may go to McDonalds next time. Same ambiance at much less money.
Fantastic meal and experience! Everything was very good but our favorites were: Buratta with prosciutto was our favorite appetizer. The balsamic glaze was perfect and their was a refreshing taste to the buratta that I can't quite put my fingeron. Veal chop was pounded down and very thin and was very tender. One of the best veal chops I've ever had. Favorite entree forour whole table was the ravioli with braised beef in a creamy mushroom sauce. This was the type of dish that guarantees that wewill be back. We normally don't order dessert but the food was so good we had to check it out. So glad we did! My son hadthe crème brûlée with mango sorbet. He loved it so much that my husband and I didn't get a chance to try it. My husband andI shared the Fritti di Bosco and it was outstanding! Berries covered in a delicious sauce that was a mix of being creamy, sweetand refreshing. Service was great and atmosphere was very nice.
Going to BICE was a great reminder of what it was like in the old days when service was taken seriously and the essence of relaxation and enjoyment in a restaurant was a paramount importance. Carlo the front of the house manager really had a handle onthe restaurant. He was joyful and kinds and made appropriate and humorous references to the old country. Our waitress Diana wasvery well aware of the menu And made appropriate recommendations for our palate. ironically, and without knowing, we came at atime where everything was 50% off the menu. So needless to say we ate like pigs. The one thing I would recommend to anyone whois going to enjoy the gift of 50% off of this fine restaurant is to remember to multiply your check times two and tipaccordingly. I would also recommend the manager add a surcharge so the waitresses can Properly be remembered during this time ofthe afternoon. Other than that the food was wonderful the appetizers were creative and the endive salad was crazy good. My wifeenjoyed a tortellini with walnuts and some other goodies which I don’t remember but the taste was phenomenal. Certainly makethis stop along the way during this time for a great deal and quality of food in this very competitive market here in Naples!Thanks Diana and Carlo.
