Bundoo Khan Express Grill - Naperville

If you are hungry and can?t decide but need meat entrees, you go to this place. BUT, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AUTHENTIC BUNDOO KHAN then go to the location on Devon Ave. Ambience smoky filled seating area; seemed like the exhaust was turned off in the kitchen. Dishes ordered 1) Bihari kabab tasted a bit undercooked 2) malai chicken boti good taste; flavor was decent 3) kadai chicken nothing special but the curry was good 4) tandoori chicken taste was okay; but it was a bit underwhelming 5) plain naan too thick 6) paratha great taste 7) suji halwa taste was decent but had excess oil I wouldn?t go back to this location. Service was decent. Wait time was average, 15 20mins.

So after experiencing undercooked chicken from Anmol and Bawarchi twice, I opted for Bandoo Khan off NY and Rt 59. Same issue. You can see the shine on the chicken. The meat was undercooked and had that typical rubbery texture. This seems to be a common problem with these three restaurants and I just can?t understand how and why. Use a meat thermometer! JK is closed for renovation or I?d be there every week! Consistent quality of food every time. The bihari kabob is a poor quality meat, was not like this when they opened prior to Covid. I have experienced bad quality meat for the bihari kabob a third time. The marinade on the chicken is really good, it?s just a shame the meat is undercooked.

Knowing how good Bundoo Khan on Devon is, I was expecting the same from the Naperville location and it?s definitely not the same. Starting from the service, I called in an order and was told 15 mins. Reached 15 mins later and waited 55 minutes for my order. It wasn?t even that busy to wait that long. The restaurant was FULL of smoke from the grill? not sure if the exhaust is working. When I received the rolls I ordered they were very soggy. We basically just ate the meat and skipped the bread. I?ve heard from others they have experienced similar issues.

BBQ express grill suburb version of famous Bandoo Khan restaurant of Chicago. Bihari kabab chicken boti is must try.

Most of their menu items are not available every time that I have gone in the last year. Food taste is not what it used to be. The floor is disgusting and greasy. The ventilation is horrible and the restaurant has so much smoke inside when we dine in. You can?t keep blaming the pandemic for not having the menu items because most of the other restaurants have all their items available. Definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
