Dairy Queen - NANOOSE BAY

Very busy little place...not their fault! The ice cream was awesome but had to wait a long time. Not a quick place to stop in the summer or during busy seasons! Right across from the beach!

DQ is one of those chains where some outlets are great and others are unbelievably bad. This is one of the more terrible ones. I have some good experiences here and some far from it.

Its hard to rate DQ because while their ice cream is usually great their burgers are a DIS AS TER! I love burgers and was hungry one day so dropped in to the local DQ. (I remember the day when I would take an 8 hour trip from the coast to central BC. In the middle of my trip was Cache Creek, and there in Cache Creek was a DQ. I always drooled at the thought of breaking my trip up with a visit to DQ for their broiled burger) Boy have times changed. When I got this burger I refused to eat it. It was the grossest excuse for a burger I'd ever tasted. The lettuce was limp and appeared cooked, The tomato was the same. When I complained I learned that franchises are now are mandated by head office to nuke the burger after building it - YES, with lettuce and tomato in it! Are they nuts!!!? Yes! I love burgers and will eat all sorts but this was DIS GUSTING! Don't waste your money on any burger here until head office changes their policy. In the meantime here's a TIP: Request that the lettuce and tomato be left out of their microwave process.

I ate here once during a 3 week visit to Parksville. The food was average as well as the service. I waited a long time to be served and then waited a long time for my food. I've had better food at other DQs. This one was average. perhaps I went on the wrong day.

Always the best, great burgers best poutine in town. Fast service and friendly staff. Highly recommended
