Excellent cuisine - nice, friendly and professional. The frame is simple and sober but relaxing and friendly or feels a bit like friends. We discovered this restaurant by chance by sneaking around the streets of Nancy. The meal consisted of 2 orange carrot salads, 2 lemon tajinas with 2 fruit juices, 1 bottle of water, oriental pastry in dessert and 2 mint teas (fricche of course) served in the purest tradition. We had dinner at the Moroccan restaurant le Marrakech at Rue Saint George (close to the corner of rue Bailly), after finding the address in our Petit Futé Nancy 2016 guidebook. It turned out to be within walking distance from our hotel on Place Stanislas. Le Marrakech is not the place for a romantic evening out. The interior is very basic and rather uncosy. Little has been done to create a warm and welcoming Mediterranean atmosphere. But the food was great. Before the meal, we were offered some spiced olives and peanuts. We started with a yummy Moroccan savoury pastry (brick), which was so big it could easily serve two people. Next we tried a tagine with chicken and preserved lemon and a tagine El Jedra with lamb, carrots, potatoes and olives. Both were really tasty. Service was friendly but a bit timid. With a bottle of dry rosé wine, we paid just under 50€, a good price-quality balance.
An extra kitchen! The environment is simply fabulous! And to finish the royal tajine made me travel!
It was too good, nothing to say a real Moroccan couscou! A fine seed like you like, little dishes a little too long, the meat came a little later, even if I understand. The two young girls were a little short! No box to get the remains, we're against the waste. We'll be back.
You are very welcome, food is succulent and served in a very generous service. The check is light enough. I found the Eastern Pastry not given. Too bad, otherwise it was faultless!!
