Located in the restaurant mile the restaurant provides the Indian flavour to the restaurant selection. The restaurant itself has only a few places inside and some more outside. Le chef wasn't very friendly looking, the others have been ok. The chef came to our table and filled the cup of my wife with the Chai tee and then disappeared with the pot althoug my wife was pretty sure that there was still some tee in the po... What Janet T doesn't like about Le Gandhi:
Usually, you can tell a good Indian/Pakistani restaurant by the aroma. Looking back, we didn 't smell anything so we should have known better. I ordered from the set menu choices the pakora style selection was bland and the vegetarian main course was tastless. The waitress had asked if I wanted it hot and I said 'yes ' knowing that in France, spice tends to end at black pepper. It was so bland that it was unpalatable... View all feedback.
I was in many Indian restaurants Worldwide in the last 25 years, but have seldom saw such a terrible restaurant. I have ordered a fish Tandoori and got a red Gravy with (maybe 30 Gramm) cooked fish inside. Wrong food and Terrible taste. As I asked them about that, they start to tell me, what is fish Tandoori. asked for White wine, just opened the wine and put the bottle at the table. Waiters have ZERO knowledge about Guest treatment. also took the cork and had no Ice bucket. Total Chaotic. for the Nan order, we have to asked to bring our order, after we were pretty done with the food . A bottle of mineral water with dirt on the bottle. Plastic table set. My Gosh, This restaurant is an absolute catastrophic. Lady Boss and the owner have no idea about restaurant, Hygiene and treating guests. Just interested to charge and take the money. I told her as i paid my bill, but she wasn 't care at all. Hope to not see this restaurant next time, when i come to Nancy. Their english performance is as bad as their food. Their Menu is old, without love for their job and a cheap paper without pictures.

Le chef wasn't very friendly looking, the others have been ok. The chef came to our table and filled the cup of my wife with the Chai tee and then disappeared with the pot althoug my wife was pretty sure that there was still some tee in the pot. That was the negative experience. The food was excellent. I had a selection of entrees and beef as the main course whereas my wife had chicken.
Indian food in France is very much a hit & miss affair, as the French aren't generally into spicy food. This usually means that it is flavoured, but even asking for it hot leaves you a bit disappointed. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quite cozy - 1980's UK Indian restaurant (but no flock wallpaper), but it seems to have the correct atmosphere. It seems to be Pakistani owned. I ordered the Ginger lamb, and after some discussion with the waitress (in French, she didn't seem to be good with english, although there was a guy that was OK) I asked for it to be spiced a bit hotter than the lime pickle - unfortunately it was nowhere near. It was quite tasty though.the ladies in our group had a korma & generic curry, which again was mild. My son tried the Dhansak, which was a little hotter. Generally, if you want a 'medium' curry, I thik the vindaloo is probably the choice. We finished by sharing a couple of ice creams, which were quite nice, escpeially the Coupe Ghandi. The meal for 4 with beers came to €85, which is good. It got very busy as the evening wore on. There are tables outside and a downstairs & upstairs room.In summary, if you want an indian, the food is OK but don't expect anything very hot. Worth a visit for something a bit differnt to the standard french fare.
Great indian food! Curry, chicken, scampi's... At a decent price. 50€ voor 2 people having 3 courses. Cosy neighbourhood. Only disadvantage could be that there's only a limited number of tables to sit outside (if you wish to do so)
Very good food, very fair portions and the price was very convenient! you can choose between two kinds of menù, 12 euros or 15 euros. Amazing! I would like to come there once again if I will come again to Nancy!
