Penny's Palapa - Nanaimo

The best nachos ever! My son and I took my wife out for her birthday and we ordered the nachos with achiote sauce. The three of us couldn't get enough! I also tried the ceviche; it wasn't my favorite, but it was still tasty. I've dined here before and they have amazing tacos, plus the atmosphere is unbeatable!

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the landscape was breathtaking. Located by the water, this beautiful spot is definitely worth a visit. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating to our vegan preferences, and we felt great after our meal. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

One suggestion I have is for the restaurant to use glassware instead of plastic for non-alcoholic drinks. It would also be fantastic if they made their own tortillas on-site for the tacos. We dined indoors, which was cozy with a lovely nautical theme and hanging lights, but I recommend making a reservation for a Monday, especially since many restaurants are closed that day. They also have outdoor seating where you can bring your dog. To finish off our meal, we had the chocolate cake, and it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The staff were excellent, providing great service throughout our visit.

Unique wonderful experience on a floating restaurant in the harbour. excellent quality eating, and friendly fast service here. chicken quesadillas and halibut tacos were our order, along with margaritas of course!

Great place to stop for lunch after walking the seawall. Delicious and large sized nachos, beers and a dog-friendly patio! Plus they have vegan tacos now.
