Coming through Nanaimo we stopped by at this nice Chinese restaurant. The place is clean, well lit and spacious. I ordered a wonton soup and curried chicken with rice. My wife ordered a tofu dish. We are not high maintenance but we are watching what we are eating and honestly we found nothing wrong with the food actually it was quite delicious. I say I would stop again here to have dinner or lunch. View all feedback.
What Delmer Morar doesn't like about New China Restaurant:
Greasy flavourless Chinese food. What more can I say. There are a million Chinese food places around here, all are better than this one except for The Mayflower which is rock bottom. View all feedback.
The old owners sold the place and it is the worst place to order food from now.
The food here used to be excellent, have noticed a decline over the years, tonight we ordered and our food came soggy and cold.
We stopped by on Friday night, this restaurant is clean, food is fresh and well presented. Our server is nice and very polite. Free open wifi with fast speed :)
We ordered from the Chinese menu, which featured authentic Chinese dishes. Our picks: item no. 142 Shredded Pork and our second item was the Pan Fried Pork Ribs with Cumin. Our palette is more toward southern Chinese cuisine, so we avoided the spicy items characteristic of northern Chinese regions. We learned that they have two chefs in the kitchen, each specializing in one of the northern and southern dishes. So, we were very eager to try the dishes we ordered.Food smelled and tasted amazing. The portion is big for two people, so we kept leftovers were enough for two or three meals. When it comes to Chinese food in town, New China is the real deal!
