Lovely atmosphere, delicious coffee, incredible treats!! Definitely going back to try every single Nanaimo Bar they have there as they all sounded tasty!! I had an original Nanaimo Bar and a Nanaimo Bar Latte and I loved both immensely!! Highly recommended and will definitely be returning!! View all feedback.
What Peggie Purdy doesn't like about Bocca:
I just ordered a B.L.A.T sandwich for my celiac friend. Make sure to tell them it was for a serious gluten allergy and were assured that their gluten-free bread was ok. She now has the worst gluten allergy she has ever experienced. If you're... you don't trust this place. Update: I had to call an ambulance and my friend spent the next 4 hours in the hospital. That was very irresponsible, and I hope that never happens... View all feedback.
If you make the Nanaimo Bar Trail, there are some on this list that are either closed or not worth the effort. But Bocca is definitely in the top three when it comes to Nanaimo bars. We tried their peanut butter nanaimo bar... and also salted caramel... man where they were good! I wanted more.
My visit at this coffeeshop/restaurant in the Old Quarter left me flabbergasted. I've never heard of a machine that churns out lukewarm Americano coffee. When I mentioned it, the manager got indignant and tried to explain-in the manner of talking to a recalcitrant kid-that the...machine did not get any warmer. They decided to give me another one which turned out to be hot, thank goodness. ????? Apparently, they also don't care if homeless beggard/junkies sit on their tables outside to get a customer to buy them coffee. I don't think I'll try that place again.
Only had coffee and Nanaimo bars which tasted very nice. Not the friendliest service, but perhapse we arrived at a busy hour
Boccaccio serves excellent coffee and wonderful baked goods. Their soups are delicious and inventive. Staff are friendly and efficient.
The brownies at Bocca are so large that they cut them in four for you. The peanut butter nanaimo bar was delicious. There is outdoor seating under a glass roof. Definitely go!
