During Songkran Night, when we were stranded without a taxi, they kindly offered to give my friends and me a ride back to our hotel on their motorcycles. I truly appreciate their hospitality and hope that the young owner will reach out to me if he ever visits Singapore.

The energy wa... read more I had thought there was no nightlife in Nan, but to my surprise, there were several lively bars on the street when we visited on a Saturday night. The energy was high with a DJ playing until 10pm, followed by a Thai band performing modern Thai rock covers. Despite being inside the air-conditioned section of the venue, the sound traveled well and added to the vibrant atmosphere.
