Aside from its I... read more One of a kind in Nagcarlan. If you’re looking for a nice and cozy place to have dinner with your family and friends, this is the perfect place! Aside from its Instagramable setting, the ambiance will make you feel like you’re in a 5-star hotel, the service from the staff is excellent and the food of course is world class. Nagcarlan is lucky to have Cibus Rusticus, I wish we have one in Manila.

Food has always been part of every country but there is always something rich in it when it comes to Philippines and no one can deny it. So as the generations passed, it developed into a widespread innovation of different foods that makes up every home. Mr. Homer Jay Castelo, the prime owner of Cibus Rusticus, makes use of the rich culture of the Filipinos in developing a restaurant that caters delicious food and beverages as well as quality service. It is located in the beautiful town of Nagcarlan, Laguna and accurately at the 2nd floor of the place where Landbank is. The term ‘cibus’ is actually a Latin word which means ‘rustic’ and with that, the theme has been derived: a rustic setting with a touch of modern aspect to create more of home vibe that can go with the innovations of 21st century. The owner also shared that this is a family business wherein they are planning to expand whenever opportunity knocks. The foods in the menu where actually created by them and put a signature touch of Cibus’. The restaurant was officially opened in public on March 16 this year and the bar on July 15. Surprisingly, it made and leaved a good impression for us. For a restaurant built in a quite small town, it was shocking to taste foods that looks like from an upper class level type. We asked for milkshakes and beverages and it tastes so delicious and creamy, the main courses too, though we do not have the picture but it was delicious. The preparation of food and the way it was presented is pretty good in all fairness. From the moment you stepped in at the restaurant, the staff will greet you with big smiles on their face and you can see that they are very pleased with your presence in it. They would guide you on your seats and will assist you at finest and after that you would be speechless for the great amount of hospitality they have. Regarding the prices, I think that their target market is the middle class and it is reasonable for the money you will spend will actually be worth it. The ambiance inside is extraordinary which I think it is because of the cleanliness and decorations present and they maximize the use of flowers which added in the overall look of the restaurant. All in all, I think that they have a good service for the restaurant, foods and the overall aspect. The staff are hospitable, foods are great, location is accessible, and the ambiance is amazing. I could not say anything bad yet because as far my experience go, all of it were pretty amazing. Another factor that made all of us feel comfortable is that they made justice to the theme and we felt it, we felt the home they are promoting.
