Myrtleford Bakehouse

I stopped by this restaurant in the late afternoon on my way back from Mount Hotham, and I wasn't disappointed! The staff were incredibly friendly, and there was a fantastic selection of warm cakes and bread. I tried a rosemary lamb cake that was to die for, along with a cheese and speck roll that featured delicious cheese and fresh speck. As if the experience couldn't get any better, we were given a selection of broth and rolls on the house to take home to our family. We’ve decided that this will be our new go-to spot on the way down the mountain!

I was curious about the Sriracha Pie, so I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be the best torte I’ve ever had! It was bursting with flavor, had a nice kick of heat that wasn’t overwhelming, and was perfectly balanced. Matt provided excellent service and was very accommodating—definitely the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. I will definitely be back!

My partner and I were in the city and decided to stop by this restaurant after visiting Mount Buffalo. I ordered the lamb and rosemary cake, and it was absolutely delicious. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the pieces were well-sized. I would have preferred a bit more rosemary, but it was still very tasty. I highly recommend trying their cakes! I'd give it an 8/10.

On the way to melbourne the cakes are really impressive. Usually I'm not a cake lover, and it's Friday and we don't have many possibilities. the chicken, sink and mushroom cake is the best I had. the slowly boiled bark cake is of course also great as my son quickly finished and asked after the second. Unfortunately, it's sold out, but I convinced him to get the chicken china cake and he loves it too!

The evening meal from here tonight and the whole family loved it. the first time from here and it was worth it. it's just cash!
