A couple of guys who I was paired up with on the golf course this morning recommended this place. Man, were they on point! They said it was old school but had great food. It turned out to be a very charming little white house with a great interior and fantastic food. Everything was good from the hush puppies they give you at the beginning all the way through the fried flounder, salmon, even the crabcakes were good. T... View all feedback.
What Robert D doesn't like about Sea Captain's House:
We hadn't been there in quite a while but we visited the Sea Captain a couple weeks ago for dinner. A long wait as usual. The waiter brought us the standard hushpuppies and butter absolutely delicious. I ordered the fried shrimp and scallops and my wife ordered the same but broiled. She liked hers but my fried was totally disappointing lukewarm, limp (not crispy on the outside) and not tasty. We've had dinner there p... View all feedback.
We recommend you to eat here! The Hostess staff was pleasant and organized! Our table was so beautiful and the view could not be better than the Atlantic! Our waiter was congenial and really knew the menu. He was thrilled to learn our likes and made wonderful suggestions so our evening was the best it could be. From the delicate, creamy crab soup... beautifully arranged salads to each of our seafood entrees... no detail has been missed! Make sure to order from the special drink menu... each ingredient fresh and such a creative mix of flavors, these selections will please every palate! Prices correspond to quality!!!
Every Eater Guide and Uber driver told us to eat this generation so we stopped. The waiters and waiters were fantastic, as some were there for almost a lifetime! There are two bars inside and one outside. We sat outside and it was perfect. I ordered the crab soup and the crab cake. They were both fantastic. My friend doesn't like seafood and got her chicken and he loved it. Just the best food we had in Myrtle Beach since our time.
We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and sat immediately. Our server Timothy immediately passed, explained both the history of the restaurant and the menu specialities of the day. Then he brought us free Hush puppies that were light and airy and delicious. Our beverage order came out quickly and both drinks were perfectly prepared. Our appetizers and meals were all cooked for perfection and were extremely delicious. All about our culinary experience in the Seekapitänhaus was amazing. Will definitely be back and recommend to our friends.
We had a really nice dinner on a Sunday night! We ate outside on the terrace and there was live music until 8PM. There is a beautiful view of the sea. We had no reservation and waited 45 minutes ago, which didn't bother us. You have a bar on the terrace and you can wait there or on the grassy area near the terrace (and listen to the music). There was also the possibility to visit or sit the bar inside while you wait. There are many parking spaces on the street and they offer Valet. My mother is vegetarian and it was nice to see the restaurant has a vegetarian / gluten free menu. Our server was excellent! His name is Cedric and if you have the pleasure of having him, you will have a great time! We'll ask him if we come back! We had the crab soup that was very good, but ours had no crabs in it that made it better. The jam and the vegetable roasts were delicious. The shrimps and grits were good, but had a lot of cream sauce, so if you like that, you are good to go! We really loved it and we will be back!
Outside seating was pleasant. Server was prompt, friendly and attentive. Nice touch was having a person singing and playing guitar on the outside deck. Scallops were fresh and delicately cooked. Broccoli was so so. Hush puppies were hot and tasty but greasy. Portions are rather small. I?m glad to see this nice restaurant open for so long! I enjoy Sea Captain?s House and will return.
