Saravana Bhavan - Muscat

This restaurant has a lot of vegan options, although they are not labeled. You can request meals to be made without ghee or butter, just ask and explain. It is a bit pricey compared to other Indian restaurants that we visited. Note: don't park your car at the backside of the restaurant. Many cars we saw had flat tires and we ended up with one too, so there might be a pattern

We ate at Saravana several times during our stay in Muscat and were never disappointed. The staff totally understands vegan and were very helpful.The South Indian Thali had many vegan dishes (up to 10 curries) and always tasted delicious. Very tasty food for a good price. Even vegan desserts are available.

A joint for South Asians South Indians. Dosa, Idlis and dishes prepared from Rice flour lentils although Indian bread is also available. Food Can be Hot to taste. Seating arrangement is haphazard. Pile of undone dishes is visible to diners. Must improve lighting inside and the washrooms. The air conditioning may be inadequate at times. Popular hence very crowded.
